PAKEEZAH.
“pakeezah” is the prominent
,famous ,Blockbuster movie of Indian cinema , which was released on 1972 after spending
of 14 year of production. There were many veteran face was involved to bring
this movie on “golden screen”. they were “Kamal Amrohi” (director),”Kaifi
Azmi” (lyricst),”Md.Rafi” & “ Lata
mangeshkar”(playback singer) and the most influence personality was
actress “Meena Kumari” as well as she was also the soul of movie........
I always
used to hear about “pakeezah” movie
but I could not watch till long day, but when I watched the movie I could not stop
my pen to write something about that..... ,
I watched this movie with three distinct visions.
I watched this movie with three distinct visions.
1. My first vision was the songs, which describe the
complete story of movie as well as constrain status of women. All song of this
movie was so melodious & tuneful. But I want to give a brief focus on the song
“chalte chalte yuhi koi mil gaya tha” this line related to the journey of actress when
she had met the actor in train but unfortunately she could not see him because she
was sleeping and the last line was “shab-e-intezar
aakhir kabhi hogi mukhtasar bhi, yeh charagh bujh rahe hai mere sath jalte
jalte”, which express the solitariness of actress in the “mahfil”
& remembrance of someone who’d met during journey ,she think one day he will come and take away from “tawaifkhana”.
2. My second vision where I had focused, was the dialogue delivered by the Meena Kumari “Fir meri awaara laash apni iss gulabi makbare me dafan hone ke liye laut aayi hai, har tawaif ek laash hai, mai bhi ek laash hoon or tu bhi, hamara ye bazaar ek kabristan hai aisi aurto ka jinki rohe mar jati hai or jism zinda rahte hai, ye hamare kothe hamare makbare hai, jisme ham murda aurto ke zinda janaze saja ke rakh diye jate hai. hamari kabre pati nahi jaati khule chhor di jaati hai taaki mai aisi khuli hui kabr ki ek lash hu jise baar baar jindagi bargala kar bhaga le jaati hai lekin ab mai apni is awaargi or zindagi ki is dhoke baazi se bezar ho gayi hu thak gayi hoon” this line show the compulsion of women.

3. The third and most important vision which drawn my
attention when the song played “aaj ham apni
duo ka asar dekhenge, tir-e-nazar dekhenge zakhm-e-jigar dekhenge” just before the end of movie. When daughter of
respected person was performing dance (Mujra) in their own father palace (Mahal)
and her father was watching the Mujra of his daughter.
Actually he didn’t know, the Mujra artist (Tawaef) is his daughter.Suddenly, she broke down the lamp glasses and rhythmically rushes out through that & whole carpet gets blooded. Which stunned all people, then her father saw her face, which was similar to the Tawaef face (whom he used to love and want to marry her), this was the shock moment of screen as well as viewers and the Humanity. Ultimately her uncle son hold the hand of Tawaef (Meena Kumari).

Is it acceptable for a
civilized society?
finally movie gets end up by a famous Sher of ALLAMA
IQBAL.
“Hazaaro saal nargis apni benoori pe rooti hai, Badi mushkil se hota hai chaman me deedawar paida”
